Industry agreement is a symbol of corporate social responsibility of the consumer cooperation system

On the eve of the Christmas and New Year holidays, an important event took place – the Third Plenum of the Central Committee of the Trade Union of Workers of Consumer Cooperation of Ukraine. The event, organized online, was attended by members of the Central Committee, invited heads of regional consumer unions, rectors of cooperative higher education institutions, the Chairman of the Union’s Audit Committee and the editor-in-chief of Visti newspaper.

The agenda of the plenary session included a number of statutory and other important issues. In particular, the powers of the new members of the Union’s Central Committee with the right to cast a decisive vote were confirmed.

The main event of the plenary session was the signing of the Industry Agreement, which is not only a legal document but also a symbol of social responsibility and solidarity of the consumer cooperation.

“The Industry Agreement is not just a set of rules and standards. It is a symbol of our solidarity, mutual support and belief in a common future. By signing this document, we demonstrate that even in times of hardship and uncertainty, we are able to engage in dialogue, seek compromises and make decisions that take into account the interests of both employees and employers,” said Illia Gorokhovskyi, Chairman of the Council of Ukrkoopspilka.

According to him, the industry agreement will affect the social life of the consumer cooperation system and concerns every employee and every enterprise, ensuring a balance between economic goals and people’s interests.

The plenary session also considered the issue of organizing recreation and health improvement for children of employees of the Ukrainian consumer cooperation system in 2025. This year, the trade union proposes to organize a summer camp for children in the Republic of Bulgaria. The plenary participants discussed important aspects of this initiative, which should make a significant contribution to social support for the system’s employees.

At the end of the third plenary session, Illia Gorokhovskyi, Chairman of the Council of Ukrkoopspilka, and Iryna Lopushanska, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Union, congratulated the participants and their teams on the upcoming holidays. They thanked them for their dedication to joint work and wished them peace, inspiration and new achievements.

The Third Plenum of the Central Committee of the Trade Union of Consumer Cooperation of Ukraine was an important event that once again emphasized the social responsibility of consumer cooperation, its ability to unite efforts to achieve common goals and create better conditions for all employees of the system.
