Commemorating the victims of World War II and the Victory over Nazism in World War II

On May 8, we celebrate the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II. Together with the whole world, we honor everyone who defended humanity from Nazism during the Second World War, remembering that difficult period of grief, death, and destruction…
Unfortunately, history again reminds us how terrible and destructive war can be, how it can engulf entire nations in its womb…

Today, in Ukraine, as we fight against the Russian invaders, we draw many parallels with the period of World War II, because our modern enemy resembles the Nazis in its intentions, slogans, and actions.

It is important that today Ukrainians have the feat of their grandparents as an example – how selflessly and heroically they fought against the Nazi invasion for their freedom and dignity! And they won!

We will win today, united and with the help of the entire civilized world. We will do everything to ensure that the future of our children, who grow up listening to air raids, explosions, destruction, and grief, will be happy in a strong, independent country. Today, the spirit of victory in World War II, our memory, and our solidarity help us!

A low bow, eternal memory and glory to the defenders who defended humanity from Nazism in 1939-1945 and who are defending its democratic values today in Ukraine!

May peace, tranquility and goodness soon reign on our blessed land!

Eternal memory to the fallen, honor and glory to the living heroes!

Glory to Ukraine!
